The home of down-the-line windsurfing is now on-line at taranakiwaveclassic.com!

August 2009 — Spring is fast approaching, and it’s the time of year that brings the combination of pristine south-west swells and consistent cross-offshore breezes to Taranaki, New Zealand’s home of wavesailing. New Zealand’s most popular windsurfing event, the Taranaki Wave Classic, will be held over the October Labour Day weekend (Oct 23rd–26th), bringing together sailors from all over the country (and even further afield) for a celebration of all things windsurfing.

This year’s Taranaki Wave Classic once again promises to be the biggest social gathering of windsurfers going around. It’s a prime time to catch up with old sailing buddies that you haven’t seen for a while, and make some new ones, while practicing those new (and old) school wavesailing moves. Not to mention, watching New Zealand’s top sailors strutting their stuff in the classic Taranaki conditions and seeing some of the latest equipment, courtesy of our sponsors. And, if you’re new to wavesailing, or just wanting to increase your sailing level, this year’s event will have some tweaks to the format to help you do just that.

You can check out all the Taranaki Wave Classic details and download the registration form at the brand spanking new shiny website: www.taranakiwaveclassic.com. You can also watch footage from previous events, find the primo spots to go, view past winners and check out our sponsors’ websites.

Early bird registration for the 2009 Taranaki Wave Classic can be done from the 1st through to the 30th of September, and payment can be made by direct debit, cash or cheque. All early bird entries will go into the draw to win a NEW Gaastra wave sail. Gather some fellow sailors together, get organised and get to Taranaki for the October long weekend, for the most fun you can have, on and off the water!
