The other day some of the Taranaki locals stated tallying up how many Taranaki Wave Classics they had been to. Just out of interest I thought it would be cool to see how many other people have done.

So how many Taranaki Wave Classic events have you been to? and what Years.

A quick look in my tee-shirt draw and I have been to 6 Events

2001 - have that tee-shirt on the wall - signed by Robby Nash

2004 2005 2006 2007 2008

and 2009 for SURE.

Although i went to the wave classic in 1998 for a look around. I did not enter but had my first ever wavesail at taranak in light wind weld road. Was a stoked 16 year old when a local saw my clew first waterstart and came over and told me how to rig my sail better.

2007 and 2008 so far with 2009 to come and seeing as I'm going to uni so around for a few more years i'm guessing 2010, 2011 and 2012

2001,02,03,04,05,06,07,08, and will be at 09 and so on and so on.....

04 onwards. And hope to go to all the rest of them.

I've been to 07 & 08. When did the TWC begin? I went to a few events back in the '90s but I think they were Expression Sessions

They were good events too. In fact Taranaki has always had good events from the days of Dave Simthers and Sirroco. Contests and expresion sessions. 80's...90's.. and now. Always been a strong good local crew. Bloody good aye. Must be ok sailing there?

02 onwards. and went to one sirroco in the early 90s. Every one of them turned on the conditions.

2007 and 2008. Have booked a cabin for this year - now just need to learn to wavesail:-)

Have improved more in one long weekend in Taranaki than a seasons worth in Auckland.

Came up from Nelson for my first one in 2005 and like so many others was hooked. Came up for '06, '07 & '08 and now that I'm living in Wellington It's even easier for me so I'll see you all in '09.

Been to a few. Enjoying them heaps. Loads of good memories (First one in 1991) Looking forward to many more. A fantastic social event.

It will be good to see you all here again. It is amazing to see everyone enjoying sailing the local spots, when often from time to time there may only be two or three of you there.

For me, the feeling is the same as everyone else. Awesome social event, with really fun sailing.

My first event in 2003, and I haven't missed one since.

The 2003 event was my introduction to both Taranaki and cross shore wavesailing.

I guess it made an impact because I moved here in 2004.

Had to go to the closet and check the Tee's. Green was the first for me in 02. Have made all since and will be there in 09 etc etc!

We are trying to make a list of people who have been to the most TWCs. Bit of honours board thing.
